Scholarship News
Rider students were awarded a grand total of $7,000 in study abroad scholarships for Spring '14. Congratulations to our very savvy Study Abroad students!

For all Rider Affiliate scholarships, students must be accepted by Rider and the Affiliate program before they can apply for an award. Please inform the Center for International Education if you do apply so we can assist you with the details. Your program budget will be reduced if you are successful with securing a scholarship.

The Alliance for Global Education awards scholarships to students who attend Alliance programs in India and China. Award decisions are based on financial need.

EuroLearn Scholarships

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad offers a new Diversity Scholarship program for students participating on semester/year-long programs through GlobaLinks Learning Abroad. The scholarships of $1,500 will be awarded to eligible students of ethnic minority who are willing to share their experience with family, friends and student colleagues upon their return. All participants with a 3.5 GPA and higher are eligible and automatically considered for an award upon acceptance to a EuroScholars research project.

IES Abroad provides a variety of scholarships for program participants. Needs-based and merit awards are available.

logo IFSA-BUTLER
IFSA-Butler offers both general scholarships based on financial need for any of their programs, and a range of other scholarships and discounts. General scholarship awards are $500 for summer programs, $1,500 for semester programs and $2,500 for full year programs. IFSA-Butler offers numerous scholarships that are specific to certain programs or countries.

Each semester, Interstudy awards scholarships in a competitive process based on financial need and academic merit. Interstudy scholarships range from $500-$1000. All prospective students are eligible to apply.

logo BOREN AWARDS
Boren Scholarships and Fellowships provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to add an important international and language component to their educations. Awards are focused on geographic areas, languages, and fields of study that are critical to U.S. national security, broadly defined, and underrepresented in study abroad. The NSEP Service Requirement stipulates that an award recipient work in the Federal Government in a position with national security responsibilities for a minimum of one year.

logo DAAD UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Highly qualified undergraduate students are invited to apply for scholarships funding study, senior thesis research and/or internships in Germany. Preference will be given to students whose projects or programs are based at and organized by a German university.

logo FREEMAN-ASIA AWARDS
Freeman-ASIA accepts applications from U.S. citizens or permanent residents studying at the undergraduate level at a two-year or four-year college or university who demonstrate financial need to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia. Applicants should have a minimum 2.8 GPA.

logo GILMAN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Gilman Scholarship Program provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide. The program strongly encourages students to choose non-traditional study abroad destinations, especially those outside of Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

logo ROTARY CLUB AMBASSADORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS
The Rotary Foundation provides funding for one academic year of study in another country. Students must have completed two years of college course work or have equivalent professional experience and be proficient in the language of the proposed host country.

The Go Overseas Study Abroad Scholarship is open to all current or aspiring study abroad students. Scholarships are awarded each year. The scholarship is awarded based on the creativity and analytical thinking displayed through writing samples and/or video submissions.

The Boren Scholarships offer a special initiative for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) majors. The scholarships fund up to $8,000 for summer study (minimum of 8 weeks) for students majoring in the STEM fields.

The Fulbright program offers grants to U.S. citizens who are recent undergraduates, graduate students and young professionals to pursue study, research and teaching initiatives abroad. Grants are highly competitive and are typically one academic year in length.
