Academics Location
The University of Graz offers courses in English in a wide spectrum of disciplines, including law, pedagogy, philosophy, linguistics, business, American studies, sciences, and history. Courses delivered in German require advanced German proficiency. The University of Graz offers a different program model for different students.

For those students who are not studying German-language, study at the University of Graz and take coursework delivered in English.

All students enroll in an intensive German language course in the month prior (September and/or February) to the beginning of the official semester. This provides those students with little German language skills the ability to communicate with local Austrians.

For those seeking to study at the University of Graz during the summer session, a separate summer program is also offered.

Graz is the second largest city in Austria and the capital of the province of Styria. Situated in the south-east of Austria, the area is often referred to as the 'green heart of Austria' due to its abundance of forests. Graz offers the atmosphere and first class facilities of a vibrant modern city (opera, theater, cultural festivals, lively pub-scene ...) with the charm and architectural beauty of a historic town.

The city center is one of the best-preserved in Central Europe and only a ten-minute walk away from the university. Graz is ideally located for trips all over Europe. Popular destinations include Italy, Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Germany, and Switzerland.

Student Life
Rider students are housed at the OEAD residence halls with other international students. Students may prepare their own meals and/or eat in university cafeterias and local restaurants. Local advisor, Heidrun Moertl, works to help Rider students make a smooth transition into the culture and college environment. She will assist you with any academic or non-academic issues throughout the semester. At all times, she is in close contact with the Center for International Education.
