Academics Location
Live like a Londoner and be inspired by a program that immerses you in local culture, academically and socially, through a classroom like no other. A city of international business, fine arts, design, theater, technology, politics, and finance awaits you. Regardless of your major, our academic courses keep you on track while you soak up regional history and culture. Our semester, spring quarter, and summer study abroad options include courses with local visits, internships and service-learning, and special lectures related to your study abroad experience, all designed to engage you in critical thinking and challenge you to pursue subjects through academic and field research.

Interested students may enroll in a selection of courses at Fordham University's London Dramatic Academy. Options include: Practical Shakespeare Acting, Modern Acting, and British Theater Now and Then. A theater background is not required. Students must pay a non-refundable fee ($100 - $200 per course) in addition to their Rider tuition. More information can be found on CAPA's website.

As one of the largest internship providers in London, we have built an extensive network of internship sites in businesses, nonprofits and nongovernmental organizations. Work with locals and enhance your resume! Build professional skills and gain perspective as you engage a network of international contacts in your field.

Europe's largest and most cosmopolitan city, London has everything from the oldest to the most modern, from science to music, theater and art, from every corner of the globe. The Center is located in the Kensington district of West London, near the Gloucester and Earl's Court tube stops and is only steps away from pubs, shopping, a supermarket, as well as Kensington Palace and Gardens.

Kensington features charming Victorian architecture and has long been considered one of the more posh areas of the city. Kensington is the home of London's largest park, Hyde Park, as well as Kensington Palace (which was home to Princess Diana and is where Price William and his wife Kate will reside when they are in London) and Imperial College. There are also a number of great museums to check out.

Student Life
The CAPA London Center has fully equipped classrooms, a faculty office, a computer lab and resource room, the CAPAccino student lounge, wireless Internet access, and local library access. The facilities are housed within two adjoining Victorian townhouses which were refurbished at the start of 2009. The campus is well served by public transportation, including three Underground lines and several bus routes, providing easy access to all parts of the city. Students live within commuting distance of the center, either in home-stays, in shared apartments, or in dormitories.

CAPA hosts a number of activities each term to introduce students to the local culture. Through the My Education program, students are encouraged to go on walking tours of different parts of London, attend guest lectures on current events, visit a variety of museums, and join other students at theater nights and group dinners. CAPA also offers a workshop at the start of the term introducing them to the culture and history of London.
