Academics Location
API students in Krakow can choose from a variety of undergraduate courses in English in the areas of Holocaust studies, Polish and Eastern European history and culture, natural sciences, philosophy, and more. Semester, summer, and year terms are available. Classes are comprised of foreign and American students. Most courses are worth 3 semester credits, and students typically take 12-18 credits per semester; 5-9 per summer session. All classes are taught in English except for Polish language classes. This former capital of Poland has always been famous for its beauty, charm and culture. With a student population of 150,000,the city has a youthful and energetic vibe. Young and old people alike stroll through the main market square throughout the day and evening. Krakow is unique in its beauty; unlike most Polish cities,Krakow's structures survived WWII virtually undamaged. That is why Krakow is included on UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites.St. Mary's Church, with its dark blue ceiling lined with stars, and the Wawel Castle are two of the city's most significant historical treasures. This lively and beautiful city is easily navigable either on foot or using the tram system. The friendly and welcoming people of Poland await students in Krakow!
Student Life
Students in Krakow live in apartments with other API students. Apartments are located within the historical center of the city, generally a 25-30 minute walking distance or a 15-20 commute by tram to the University. Each apartment will typically have 2-3 single or double bedrooms, a shared bathroom and a living area. Each unit is furnished, includes its own kitchen and has a washing machine.
