Shanghai is one of the largest cities in the world with over 23 million people. It is the financial capital of China and a city of extreme historical significance. Shanghai is considered the crowning achievement of China's economic success in recent years, and showcased this success when it hosted the World Expo 2010. It is located on the central east coast of the country and enjoys moderate temperatures in the winter and warm summers.

Much of Shanghai's success was originally due to its proximity to the coast and Asia's largest river, the Yangtze. Shanghai has been a market city for over 1,000 years and has been a city of global economic importance since the 19th Century. Due to its financial success, Shanghai has some of the best shopping in China!

Student Life
As a student on the program, you will have the opportunity to study and intern in Shanghai, immersing yourself in the city the Chinese government has designated as a laboratory for its financial reform efforts.  Already recognized as the world's second largest economy, China is positioning Shanghai at center stage of its efforts to engage the world.

A stunning 24-hour city of 23 million people that is considered one of Asia’s most important international business centers, Shanghai is also China's insurance and world cruise center and largest container port and global shipping hub, while also quickly evolving as the center of China's movie animation and fashion industries.

The CAPA Shanghai Global Business Program offers you the opportunity to enroll in a highly-focused summer program offering two academic courses with an internship option.  Also included are CAPA's signature MyEducation activities that introduce you to social and cultural activities designed to further your connection to your fellow students as well as to the culture that surrounds the program.
