*Note: Students must be of junior status and participate in the internship component.  You must also have at least 4 semesters of Spanish, this includes high school.

The CAPA Buenos Aires program is hosted at Universidad Austral, which is located in the Barrio Norte area of the city, by Recoleta and Retiro.  From this location, it is easy to reach many of the city’s famous landmarks, including the busy and famous Avenida 9 de Julio, Avenida Santa Fe and Avenida Libertador. Walking through the neighborhoods of Retiro and Recoleta, you are surrounded by many historical buildings, including several embassies.

Universidad Austral is a small, private university founded in the 1970s; over 4,400 students are currently enrolled at its three campuses. Approximately 130 international students study at Austral each academic year. The school specializes in communications, law, business administration, accounting, engineering, medicine and nursing, as well as a variety of graduate programs.

The Buenos Aires internship program (semesters only) gives you the chance to learn about business from a Latin-American cultural perspective. From working for a world-renowned athletic team to high-profile NGOs, as a CAPA intern you’ll have the opportunity to develop job-related skills, such as writing articles and developing strategy all while living in vibrant Buenos Aires!

You can earn 3-6 credits through CAPA’s Learning through Internship course which you will take in addition to an internship placement.  This seminar meets 1.5 hours per week. Students participate in their internship for 15-20* hours per week.
Buenos Aires (pop. 13 million including suburbs) is well-known for its cultural diversity and dynamic atmosphere, making it one of South America's most elegant and vibrant cities. The city's history revolves around the Western European immigrants whose descendants have preserved their influences since the 19th century by way of architecture, art, and style. Buenos Aires has also adopted some more modern architectural styles, which provide a notable contrast to the city's deep-rooted traditions and history. Buenos Aires has countless opportunities for students to enjoy exhilarating soccer games, world-class theatrical and dance performances, a vibrant nightlife, and unique architecture. Many students will find themselves intrigued by the beautiful Argentine accent and the national dance, the Tango. Students are sure to witness tango performances throughout the city's streets, cafes, and theaters. Students should be prepared to indulge in an irresistible culture situated in a beautiful landscape.
Student Life
CAPA has an office on-site at the university, and the CAPA Resident Director is responsible for all student services during the program. All CAPA students are also considered to be Austral students, and they will have access to the school’s resources. They will also be issued with an Austral student identification card that can be used for discounts around Argentina.
The university is housed in a three-story bulding that dates back to 1906. The building has a fascinating entrance; the huge staircase with its bronze rail and spider lamps and frescos that cover its ceilings makes one feel that you are entering a European palace. The entire building has wireless Internet, and there are computer labs located throughout the school. Printing and photocopying services are available through the photocopy center. Each floor has a number of classrooms and meeting rooms in a variety of configurations. In the classrooms, digital projectors, computers, DVD and VCRs are available for faculty.
